3-star heritage townhouse in Central Brighton

Location

Regency Hotel is positioned directly opposite the British Airways i360 Tower in Central Brighton, a prominent 162m landmark visible from a distance. The hotel's location provides easy access to various attractions, including the Brighton Beach and the city's vibrant shopping district. Secure parking options are available nearby, specifically at Regency Square Car Park, located 50 meters from the hotel.

Rooms

The hotel offers a diverse selection of room sizes from economy to superior, catering to various guest budgets. Family accommodations consist of two interconnected bedrooms, allowing space for up to four guests. Additionally, certain rooms include amenities such as fridges, Freeview TVs, and hair dryers.

Heritage

The Regency Hotel occupies a historic townhouse, with its roots dating back 200 years. Originally converted into a guesthouse in 1976, it maintains a classic appeal while offering modern comforts. Guests can appreciate the architectural significance that defines this heritage property.

Family-Friendly Amenities

Families can benefit from rooms that accommodate extra beds at no additional charge, making it convenient for children. The hotel does not serve breakfast on-site but recommends nearby Debenhams for a full British breakfast experience. Options are available for tailored plans for long stay guests, simplifying extended visits.

Access and Security

Access control is implemented at all doors to ensure the security of guests, keeping unauthorized visitors out of the building. Public transport is recommended for convenient travel around Brighton. For guests arriving later in the day, free street parking is often available near the hotel after certain hours.

Highlights

Location: Directly opposite British Airways i360 Tower

Rooms: Selection from economy to superior

Heritage: 200 years old building

Family-Friendly: Extra beds for children at no charge

“In my opinion, the main draw is the location, directly opposite the i360 and a short walk from Brighton Centre. I noted some rooms offer sea views and balconies, a real plus, although expect older plumbing and stairs. For fuss-free travelers prioritizing location over modern amenities, it could be a reasonable choice.”

The Regency Hotel's seafront location is a highlight for many, offering fantastic views of the West Pier and easy access to the city centre. Guests appreciate being next to a variety of shops and restaurants, and some rooms even feature balconies with Regency Square, I360 and sea views. Rooms are generally considered a great size, with comfortable beds, dressing tables, chairs, and very good lighting, though a few guests have noted that the building feels dated. Overall, the hotel offers good value for money to explore Brighton.

A Stay with Some Hitches

limescale buildup nonexistent security
The location was undeniably excellent, being just a short stroll from the beach and various shops..
Unfortunately, bathroom cleanliness was a significant issue. I noticed a substantial buildup of limescale in and around the shower, along with a distinct yellow discoloration. the tap felt loose. The window security seemed virtually nonexistent, particularly given its status as a fire exit, and the latch looked to be held together with cardboard.

excellent location with great sea view

sea view city centre perfect location
my sea-view room provided a fantastic view of the seafront and west pier. i found it very handy for the city centre. the climb to the upper floors was a bit awkward due to the lack of lifts, but the view was worth it. the location was perfect, especially for experiencing the city.
The bathroom cleanliness was not ideal. There was a noticeable limestone buildup in the shower. the tap felt loose, and i worried about further damaging it. window security was also a concern, especially since it served as a fire exit.
Dining
9/10
a vast variety of shops and restaurants are located nearby. guests can easily access different cuisines and dining options just steps from the hotel. there is also a supermarket nearby.
Location
10/10
the hotel is a few minutes walk to the beach. it provides easy access to both the seafront and the city centre, but the area is also well-connected by public transportation. it's a convenient area.
